Oh My Gosh, Oh My Gosh!!!! Look what I found when I went to get my mail!!!! My first Hydrangea ever. Do you know how many times I tried to grow Hydrangeas in Florida???? More than I can count. Once I thought I would try and buy a large Hydrangea in North Carolina (thinking if it were more mature it would grow in Florida and not die) I drove with it in between my legs, 10 hours back from North Carolina!!! It still died.... I'm so Excited.... Katie

Congratulations. I miss mine now living in AZ. There's something so tranquil in buds of blue.
Glad I found you're blog..through your comment on lily-g.
wow small world... after just checking out your blogs...
I moved from Royal Oak, MI last year to AZ & my great Stef moved to Summervile, SC at the same time...she's a killer hair styliist in town there...I love coincidences like this!!!!
I live in southern California & mine dies right before blooming. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this year will be the year it doesn't die. But it's been in the high 90's low 100's this past week, so it's not looking good. Glad to hear yours bloomed. I love hydrangeas.
Hi again Kate thanks for joining along on my journey. Much appreciated.
Stef is Stephanie Grace & she works at Serenity. Its on Trolley in Summerville. Great cuts & killer colorist.
What a beautiful hydrangea. They are no problem to grow here - plenty of rain water to drink!

Thanks for sharing that picture. I can grow hydrangeas, but the deer eat them before they bloom. Each year the folliage comes back out, but as soon as it get really visible, it's gone.
Congratulations Kate - such true pleasure to grow flowers, isn't it. xv
